ತರಕಾರಿ ಸಾಗು VEGETABLE SAGU ( NO ONION NO GARLIC )

 

To prepare Vegetable Sagu we need:

  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (such as Carrots, Beans, Cabbage, Peas, etc.)
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander
  • 1/2 tsp Poppy Seeds
  • 1/2 bunch Mint leaves
  • 1/2 bunch of coriander leaves
  • 2 tomato
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 4 green chili, chopped (optional)
  • 3 tsp oil or ghee
  • Pinch of Asafetida
  • Salt to taste
Steps to prepare Vegetable Sagu
    1. In a blender, add grated coconut, mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chili, ginger, cumin seeds, clove, cinnamon, poppy seeds,
    2. Blend everything together until you get a smooth paste.
    3. Pressure cook vegetable until 3 whistles
    4. Heat oil or ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds & Asafetida
    5. When they start to splutter add blended mixture
    6. Roast until moisture evaporates
    7. Add the cooked veggies & adjust the water consistency
    8. Add tomato
    9. Cook for 5 mins
    10. Transfer to serving bowl
