Gobi Pakoda ( Cauliflower Pakoda ) ಗೋಬಿ ಪಕೋಡ

 

To prepare gobi pakoda, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 medium-sized cauliflower
  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 3/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 3/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • Ginger
  • Coriander
  • Salt, to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Wash and chop the cauliflower into small florets.
  2. Blanch the Cauliflower florets for about 3 mins
  3. In a large bowl, to warm water add red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, turmeric
  4. Add Cauliflower florets & mix well
  5. Rest for 5 mins
  6. Add besan, Rice Flour, cornflour, Ginger, Coriander
  7. Add water gradually, as needed, to make a thick batter.
  8. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  9. Dip each cauliflower floret in the batter and gently drop it into the hot oil.
  10. Fry the pakodas until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  11. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  12. Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup. Enjoy!
