To prepare gobi pakoda, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 medium-sized cauliflower
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 3/4 tsp coriander powder
- 3/4 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric
- Ginger
- Coriander
- Salt, to taste
- Water, as needed
- Oil, for frying
Instructions:
- Wash and chop the cauliflower into small florets.
- Blanch the Cauliflower florets for about 3 mins
- In a large bowl, to warm water add red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, turmeric
- Add Cauliflower florets & mix well
- Rest for 5 mins
- Add besan, Rice Flour, cornflour, Ginger, Coriander
- Add water gradually, as needed, to make a thick batter.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Dip each cauliflower floret in the batter and gently drop it into the hot oil.
- Fry the pakodas until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove from oil and place on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup. Enjoy!
